Not all clinical supervision is created equally, and at Group Soup, we’re here to change that.

Group Soup offers an inclusive community for mental health professionals and trainees who seek more: more consistency, collaboration, and connection to the heart of clinical practice. Together, we explore concepts, unpack cases, and connect theory to practice, all while fostering meaningful growth.

Born from experiences ranging from transformative to transactional, our program is designed to make supervision a cornerstone of your professional growth. We’re committed to helping you thrive—not just survive.

Whether you’re navigating private practice or building your clinical expertise, our supervision equips you with the skills to provide compassionate, sustainable care while staying resilient and aligned.

2024 GROUP SOUP FELLOW FEEDBACK

We’re thrilled to share that the re-launch of Group Soup is just around the corner! Our team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to craft an even more enriching experience for our 2025 fellows.

As part of this preparation, we’ve been reviewing feedback from our 2024 fellows to ensure we’re learning and growing alongside our community. After the 2024 cohort’s fellowship concluded, an independently-led focus group provided valuable insights into their experiences.

We’re excited to share some of the highlights from this feedback, as well as the key areas we’re focusing on to enhance and improve the program.

FAQs

What is the time frame of the program?

Group Soup is a 36-46 week program (roughly 9-10 months; March-December 2025). The program’s fluidity is based on the learning needs of cohort members, holiday schedules, operational factors, and circumstances that may arise that are out of our control.

Will I be paid for the services I provide through my clinical fellowship?

Yes, all billable/reimbursable therapy services are paid directly to the clinical fellow through Wolf Pack’s invoicing processes. Therapy services provided during the Group Soup program are reimbursed at $35/hour. Services related to the development of programs (e.g. therapy groups, training, lectures) are not subject to reimbursement, but the delivery of those programs directly to clients through groups or other training events is subject to reimbursement.

How will Group Soup help prepare clinicians for the LCSW exam and the LCPC exam?

Each fellow comes into the program with different skills, goals, and progress related to clinical licensure. Throughout the program, Wolf Pack staff will provide information, resources, and support (i.e., guidance on hours tracking, determining which professional experience to apply towards hours) to help clinicians plan for their clinical exam, but it is up to each fellow to pursue licensure outside of Group Soup.

Will Group Soup prepare me to start a private practice and work independently?

While Group Soup addresses some key factors to work independently in private practice as a potential small business owner, the goal of this program is to support the foundational learning needs and confidence of clinical professionals. The program’s educational framework includes information about becoming a private practitioner and various aspects of independent clinical work but does not focus exclusively on this area.

How much does it cost to participate in Group Soup?

The total cost for the program is $2,940. This number includes the cost for each weekly group session (34 total at $60/session), 6 one-on-one supervision sessions (at $150/session), and the back-end administrative, educational development, and evaluation efforts. We are happy to work with each fellow on a payment plan that best aligns with their circumstances. We also provide a 20% discount to fellows who pay for the program in full.

Note: Many organizations that employ pre-licensed staff are willing to pay for outside clinical supervision. Please speak with our team to learn more.

How does learning and engagement occur?

Weekly sessions are one hour in length and may include a didactic lecture, a case review, and discussion/support navigating various challenges. In between weekly cohort sessions, fellows will be encouraged to enhance their growth and subject mastery through various resources, including readings, videos, in-practice skills building, and other learning modalities. We also highly encouraged fellows to attend in-person and online events hosted throughout the year, such as our webinars, The Book Banned, our book club, and other community networking and learning collaborations.

How many clinical fellows are accepted into each cohort?

Cohorts are designed to include a maximum of five fellows to ensure that supervisors/facilitators can give the appropriate time, energy, and attention to each fellow’s experience and needs.

Will I be able to take the clinical exam by the end of Group Soup?

It depends on your goals and your progress! Each fellow comes into the program with different needs and experiences related to clinical licensure and test readiness. Group Soup helps you prepare for your test but we cannot guarantee that each fellow has achieved all of the required supervised hours by the end of the program.

How many clinical hours will this fellowship offer to count towards the required hours to sit for the clinical exam?

The entirety of Group Soup programming contributes to:

  • 34 weeks of hour-long lectures

  • 6 hours of 1:1 clinical supervision

  • Hours Providing Clinical Therapy Services

    • This number is solely based on the Clinical Fellow, their current work status, their need for additional hours, interests, etc.
Note: Fellows working in the field will be able to count those work hours toward licensure

  • Guaranteed # of Hours: 40+ any additional therapy offered

The total number of required clinical experience hours to sit for the LCSW or LCPC is 3,000.

Will I be able to see therapy clients and earn clinical hours as a part of my fellowship?

Clinical fellows are eligible to provide therapy following the prerequisite lectures indicated in the syllabus, and approval from their clinical supervisor. Typically, fellows can begin providing therapy as a Clinical Fellow within the first twelve weeks of the program. Supervisor approval will be based on each fellow’s experience and comfort in providing direct clinical practice and the completion of educational and administrative requirements.
