Friday @ the Den -I've got the music in me *Special Dance*

What is going on in this video?

It is just after work on a Friday and I have put on some tunes - Thelma comes on and inspires me to move and I have grabbed a recording of me dancing so that I can share it with folks who may need a laugh or a smile.

Why is this something you want to do? Why double-time?

Many white folks are uncomfy dancing and worry what they look like or how good they are - welp, I am done being uncomfy and I just wanna move. i love laughing and making people laugh. Frankly, I can't dance for crap but I do have rhythm and so I bridge that gap and speed up the video to make me look like I actually have dance skills, or at least the chutzpa to get up and move. I share these with others just to make them giggle (and maybe get out of their heads and into their bodies to get EMBODIED a little). I also do this as a nod to my girlfriend who owns Turn Up, a dance fitness & mental wellness community for real people with a focus on reclaiming our right to move and connection through music.

Is this a weekly thing?

I attend Sarah's classes weekly ''Sunday Service" classes and move weekly BUT these videos are ONLY captured when the spirit moves me
